The Miracle of Teamwork

Filed under: Uncategorized — hardge @ 3:18 am

What was your 2008 New Year’s Resolution? Well this year I didn’t make a resolution. I made a New Year’s Commitment to start my journey of Personal Development. One of the actions I have taken was to subscribe to a new magazine called Success. Well actually, it is an old publication that has been restored. I also subscribe to their newsleters and today’s newsletter included an article titled The Miracle of Teamwork by Dr. John C. Maxwell (a business leader and philosopher whom I have grown a great respect for). In this article he stated how he didn’t fully grasp the importance of teamwork until he was 40 years old. He stated how at 40, he realized that his success wasn’t going to be determined by his gifts, his abilities or his opportunities. It was going to be determined by whether he could develop a great team. This realization was so life-changing for him that it birthed one of his 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership – the “Law of the Inner Circle” which states those closest to you determine the level of your success. Now more than 16 years later, he devotes more energy, more time and more resources to growing his inner circle than anything else.

I strongly share Dr. Maxwell’s feelings about the Teamwork concept because Together We Achieve More. I am looking for key people to join my YTB team and help to build a successful organization together. A team devoted to helping others and continuing to uplift themselves. If you know of anyone who lives in the U.S., Canada, Bahamas or Bermuda who is looking to make some serious financial changes in their life, please have them contact me right away. I want to share my opportunity with them and show them that they don’t have to settle for mediocrity anymore.

Be blessed!

It Amazes Me

I must be honest in saying that YTB is a business that’s going to pay you based on your efforts but in the YTB family, you are in business for yourself but you are never ever by yourself. Your sponsor is your first person for support and has a vested interest in your success. You should be able to go to your sponsor for any help and/or to ask any questions and even if he or she does not know the answer, he/she should be able to ask their sponsor and so on but somewhere in your upline, you should have no trouble getting your answers. Besides your direct sponsor and upline, you also have YTB Customer Support to turn to whether or not its a question regarding your travel business or the marketing side of your business. And I must say, their staff is always so friendly and makes you feel so welcomed. Whoever trains them on customer service is doing a fine job because every support person I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with, the experience has always been pleasing.

You see, its for many reasons why YTB is so unique and believe me when I say that more and more people and companies are recognizing the power of our business and the power of relationship marketing. Businesses are beginning to change the way they’re doing business. Many traditional business operations are beginning to suffer because they’re just not getting it with this whole social movement. That’s why places like MySpace, Facebook, hi5, LinkedIn and others have several hundred thousand members and continue to grow every day. People are more likely to do business based on the referral of someone else, plain and simple.

So YTB took a product in the largest industry – - Travel – - and combined it with the power of relationship marketing and they are changing the way the nation is traveling. Do you remember when they told us that several years later, there would be a computer in every household? Now, as we take a look, most of us have more than one especially if you include PC based phones. Well, if no one has told you, I’m here to tell you… within the next few years, every household will have its own travel website! Period.

So as I was reading my free Agent at Home Magazine for this month (oh, by the way, that’s a perk of being in the travel industry… you get access to free travel trade subscriptions) I came across an add and saw that Expedia has launched a Cruise Ship Center program. This new venture will enable home based agents to have their very own Expedia Cruise Ship Center Franchise. The franchise opportunity will also enable an agent to act as a ‘host agency’ where they can have independent contractors operate under their travel franchise. Wow… It Amazes Me. For many years, Expedia was always the new face of Internet travel spending billions of dollars in advertising hoping that their hard spent dollars would encourage you to book your next trip with them. But wait a minute, along comes YTB and offers the same product at very comparable prices except now, it becomes more personal. More and more people are impressed by the business model because not only will YTB give you a confirmation with your booking, but they’ll also send you a commission check! How cool is that?

When you think of it, the concept is quite like the Coke corporation putting a vending machine in locations across the country. Coke as a corporation, can’t reach everyone in your neighborhood, but the vending machine or the local grocery store can. It’s the same concept – - it’s called distribution. Its because of this distribution why YTB’s travel sales are growing exponentially. We currently have over 140,000 RTA’s (Referring Travel Agents) and everyone they know are booking travel on their sites. Think about it, if your brother has a YTB travel site where you can book the same flight on the same airplane or the same room at the same hotel, (and more than likely even get a better rate), who will you book your trip with – - your brother or Orbitz? Because of that distribution and because of those relationships, more people are booking on YTB Referring Travel Agent websites meaning they’re not booking trips with all the other highly advertised sites.

Well here’s what amazes me. Because of YTB’s brilliant idea, companies like Expedia are expanding into the home-based market as I stated above. Smart move, except…. if you’re interested in their opportunity, get ready to pay $3,995 to get started and then pay a monthly licensing fee of $90. Well, I don’t know about you but I’d much rather save money and pay $449.95 to get started and pay a monthly licensing fee of $49.95 especially if people will be able to book the very same trips! (Actually we can book more trips because the Expedia Cruise Ship Centers opportunity, strictly deals with cruises. Hmm, doesn’t travel also include car rentals, hotel bookings, spa destinations, geesh and I certainly hope they do flights!)

An Introduction: Who Is Ktasha Hardge

My name is Ktasha Hardge and I am an entrepreneur pursuing goals of financial freedom and time freedom like so many others out here seek. I own my own tax services and small business bookkeeping company, Hardge Connections. I have been providing tax services for over 15 years but about 5 years ago, I decided to officially launch HC. I wanted more than just a freelancing type of business. I must say that God has been blessing my business because each year I acquire more clients. He must have known what I needed especially when I stepped out 3 years ago and quit my job to devote more time to building my business. And through God, I have been able to do just that – - build my business.

While I appreciate the blessing of more clients, at times it can become somewhat overwhelming because I have to wear so many hats. I’m the tax preparer, the receptionist, the customer service representative, the bookkeeper, the errand person to purchase office supplies or make bank deposits or postal runs, the website developer and the list goes on. Sometimes there’s just not enough hours in the day. I’m also raising two young ladies age 10 and 7 and I live with my fiance so you can only imagine how demanding my time can become. In my spare time (whenever I get some) :) , I love to read.

Not too long ago, I became a fan of Robert Kiyosaki and other business leaders and began to learn the importance of residual and passive income. I began to learn quickly that while I do control my own time, I literally own a job because when I’m not sitting at my desk servicing customers, I’m not making any money. And if you know anything about the Cash Flow Quadrant, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

So I began my journey looking for something. Actually my journey began long ago and I would send away for worthless schemes that promised to make me rich. I wasted so much money. I finally figured out I needed something more tangible and more real so I became an Avon Representative and was able to generate some customers but I didn’t make any significant money. I did pursue the leadership opportunity and thought about becoming an eRepresentative but I was not fully happy that I had to convince people why they should use Avon over similar store items. And the deliveries to customers and getting brochures out to everyone, it was just more time that I didn’t have to spare.

Then I pursued Real Estate and became a Licensed Realtor. I was so excited about being able to work with homeowners and I loved all the marketing tools that the industry offered. Unfortunately I didn’t fare too well there either but one reason I believe was that I didn’t start with a good foundation. The broker I signed up with was quite reputable, however the specific office I worked with seemed to have some shady dealings going on and I lost the desire and passion.

I was still thirsting for that opportunity that I knew just had to be out there. I knew that I was meant to be wealthy because abundance is our birthright and greatness is our destiny.

Then one day I got a call from an acquaintance I hadn’t heard from in quite a while. He started telling me about this great business he got involved in and how it might be something that could really work for me. Initially I kept saying how I didn’t have time for anything else in my life. I couldn’t see committing to one more thing. I couldn’t even find time to come down to his presentation. But thank God, my acquaintance knew that I needed this business so he arranged for his director and him to come out to my place and give me and my fiance a one-on-one presentation. We were blown away! We were speechless. My fiance is an entrepreneur at heart himself so we knew that this was it. This is what we were searching for all this time. We knew it was the right product – - Travel. We knew it was the right type of business – - Internet Based. It was a business where we could supplement our income and also build a residual income so that we can not only have more money when we retire but it would also enable us to leave a legacy for our children’s grandchildren. It was a business that could create the leverage I was looking for. And because it was something we could do from home, and didn’t require a large investment, we got started immediately.

For those of you considering joining YTB, let me be the first to tell you that YTB is an excellent vehicle to achieve the goal of financial self-sufficiency. Whether it is to make an extra couple of hundred dollars a month or if it is to completely replace the income you presently earn at work, YTB can be the solution to change your life and your lifestyle.

YTB’s goal is to become the world’s largest travel company by 2011. They have partnered with the largest names in the travel industry to see that this happens. We are so excited to be part of this dynamic business. The Coach, J. Lloyd tomer has a goal to create 10,000 millionaires and he has already created an abundance of them. We are confident that we will become directors. We are already on our way. We are Certified RTA’s (Referring Travel Agents) and Power Team Leaders.
